More & More
Just like the Twice song, “More and More.” We seem to all want more and more. I am certainly no exception. I keep looking at things and think to myself, “Yes, would it not be great if I could just get a little more? You know if I had just gotten it a couple of years ago. Or if I just give a little more for more. Eh?” Then I instantly become dissatisfied with what objects I have. Then I spiral down. Then I snap out of it! Thinking, “Oh! Wait! Ok. Yes, I can have more. I can have much more. As much I would like. And there is a trade-off for more.” And boy do I know the trade-off. So what do you think is better?
If you are faced with a dilemma. The dilemma of wanting more things, bigger things. Think first about the trade-off. As my father loves to tell me, nothing in life is free. You got that right Ba! I learned it the hard and extremely painful way. Nothing I get is free. If it is free, get out with it while you can! Just like when you walk into the Ca-Si-No. You get out with the lucky hand and run. Don’t keep coming back because house wins. Eventually. Listen to the wise words of the ones who came before or ignore at your own sake. Follow the fool that sees only what you see and both of you become fools together.
Next time you want more, ask yourself what is it that I am trading it for? Not only the immediate trade in.
