Everywhere you turn it seems that there is a dire and doom warning. The youtube channels, the news, the employment rate, etc. There are many positives. Let me go right into listing them:

  • Less gas emission into the ozone from less traffic
  • Less consumption of goods from clothing to toys means a small break for mother earth!
  • More stay at home people, means more time with family
  • Less going out to eat; thus, more good home cooking
  • More focus on community and our immediate surroundings
  • More unemployment means a life restart for many to focus on what they truly aim for
  • More dependence on family and friends, means a stronger bond
  • More emphasis on home base

Overall, less consumption is long overdue for us. If we keep going at the rate prior then our children and our children’s children may not be able to enjoy the beauty of this world.

Also, it seems ridiculous the media keeps saying “but the GDP is down so much!” like it is a bad thing! GDP is by no means a marker of a nation’s overall mental, physical, or spiritual health. If anything the higher it is the worse health the nation is in. Mindless consumption without foresight for our future.
